The Seattle Seahawks are relying upon a cauldron of fresh to make in 2019.
The important player in this group is second-round select D.K. Metcalf, who has impressed quarterback Russell Wilson thus far during offseason workouts.

“It is great seeing D.K. [Metcalf] make his plays. I think D.K. is looking really, really unique,” Wilson said Wednesday during minicamp, via the team’s official site. “He can do anything and everything and he is enormous.”
Wilson cooed about all the Seahawks’ receivers but provided praise . The quarterback stated that while Metcalf owns freakish athleticism — conducting a 4.33-yard 40-yard dashboard and flashing a 40.5-inch vertical at 6-foot-4, 229 pounds — it is the wideout’s mental acumen that impressed him so far.
“His knowledge of the game first,” Wilson stated. “Everyone knows about the ability to run and jump and catch and all that. However, I think more than anything else, it’s his mind, how he processes information it is understood by him. He’s really smart, he knows the game. He takes coaching well, he receives additional work. He’s a legit professional receiver. He’s everything everybody was talking about in relation to what he is capable of and more.”
Following Doug Baldwin’s retirement, the Seahawks need a heady playmaker to shine opposite Tyler Lockett. Seattle is betting growing into that function, and thus way through offseason workouts, the rookie has impressed. We’ll see when the pads come on in July, if that trend continues.
